Headaches: untangling the grand recipe

Headaches are tricky, because there are so many variables. There are hormonal causes. Cervicogenic causes — headaches driven by the neck. Environmental causes. Musculoskeletal causes. Tension and stress. Medication side effects. The list goes on, and for many people it isn't one ingredient — it's a grand recipe.

What Dr. Brown is good at

Two things: having real conversations, and evaluating the musculoskeletal portion of that recipe. A headache evaluation here isn't a five-minute formality — he's going to listen to you, pay attention, and look for all the subtle clues: how you sit, how you sleep, what your neck and shoulders are doing, when the headaches come and what they come with.

Here's the honest version: he can't guarantee he can help your headaches — nobody honestly can, with this many possible causes. What you can be sure of is that he'll listen carefully, evaluate thoroughly, and tell you plainly whether the musculoskeletal piece looks like a meaningful part of your recipe. And if your headaches point somewhere else, he'll say so and help you get to the right place.

Why headaches are personal here

Dr. Brown suffered from migraines as a child. Thankfully, his mother took him to a chiropractor — and that experience is ultimately what began the journey that led him, many years later, to become a chiropractor himself. He knows what it's like to be the person on the table with the pounding head, not just the one standing next to it.
