What we offer

How we help

A focused set of services for what we see most — sciatica, back and neck pain, headaches, stiffness, vertigo, and shoulder pain — matched to what you actually need.

Chiropractic Care

Gentle, precise adjustment of the spine and joints. On most visits Dr. Brown works the surrounding muscles by hand first, then adjusts — the two together are the core of care here.

Corrective Exercises

A short set of home exercises matched to your problem areas, so progress holds between visits.

Lifestyle Advice

Personalized guidance on the daily activities to modify or avoid, so you can keep living fully without aggravating your condition.

Nutrition Guidance

Down-to-earth nutrition advice to support your recovery and everyday health — simple suggestions, not a rigid program.

Conditions we see most

What brings people in

Each of these has its own page — what’s usually behind it, and what Dr. Brown actually does about it.

Back pain

A location, not a diagnosis. Why backs complain — and the evaluation-first approach to settling them down.

Sciatica

Pain that travels down the leg. Disc, piriformis, or both — and gentle traction, muscle work, and adjustment.

Neck pain

From “military neck” to “tech neck”: what forward-head posture does, and how the body adapts.

Headaches

Many causes, one honest evaluation of the musculoskeletal piece — from a doctor who had childhood migraines himself.

Shoulder pain

Tendinitis, rotator cuff trouble, and stubborn shoulders — treated by someone who’s battled his own.

Vertigo

What causes the spinning, which types respond to care, and the Epley maneuver for BPPV.

What a visit can include

Treatment is matched to what the evaluation actually finds. Depending on the problem, that can include:

  • Hands-on muscle work — deep muscle massage to settle muscles that are guarding or clamped down.
  • Specific adjustments to the spine — precise, gentle, and only where they’re warranted.
  • Lumbar flexion on the auto-flexion table — gently tractioning the low back when disc pressure is part of the picture (sciatica, back pain).
  • The Epley maneuver — for BPPV-type vertigo, guiding displaced inner-ear crystals back where they belong.
  • Specific stretches and a short set of home exercises — matched to your problem areas, not a generic handout.
  • Simple movement and lifestyle advice — walking, and the daily things to modify or avoid so you don’t keep re-aggravating it.

Often it’s the combination — not any one trick — that helps. And if the evaluation points somewhere chiropractic isn’t the right fit, Dr. Brown will tell you plainly and help you get there.

Active Chiropractic of Cadillac serves Cadillac and the surrounding Wexford, Missaukee, and Osceola County communities.
